Woodbridge resident David Nathaniel Maine, 24, has been charged with four counts of murder and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection to the fatal shooting on Monday, Oct. 17.

Officers from the Prince William County Police Department responded shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 to a reported shooting in the 5200 block of Mansfield Court in Woodbridge.

Upon arrival, officers said that they conducted a welfare check inside the home, where they found four adults in different parts of the home with various gunshot wounds.

All four were pronounced dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, the Prince William Police Department identified the victims as:

  • Miguel Duran Flores, 44;
  • Kelly Victoria Sotelo, 42;
  • Karrie Ayline Sotelo, 19;
  • Richard Julio Jesus Revollar Corarales, 36 (basement tenant).

According to investigators, all four victims and Maine were residents of the home and knew each another. Three of the victims are family members, while the fourth was a tenant who lived in the basement.

Maine was identified by police as an acquaintance of another family member who also resided at the house and was not present during the grisly murders.

The investigation determined that there was an altercation at home and after the incident, Maine left the residence and called 911 to report that someone had shot into the residence, according to police.

Officers arrived on the scene and located Maine a short distance from the home, where he was detained without incident, according to the department. Officers at the residence located the house unsecured and conducted a welfare check where they located the four victims in different areas of the home.

The initial claims made by Maine were unsubstantiated, investigators noted. Three of the victims were shot while the cause of death of the fourth victim remains undetermined.

A gun was also recovered at the scene.

Maine is being held without bond. His initial court appearance is pending.
